1-POUR/DON'T SCOOP. When measuring cups of flour, DO NOT scoop from the bag. Each time you scoop, the flour gets packed into your cup and you are taking more than one cup. Instead, pour flour (over the sink) into your measuring cup. While this may be a little messier, it ensures true single-cup measurements.
