When my grandmother—my beloved Bobbie—baked challah, she’d make a little dough “bird” just for me. It was a simple knot with raisin eyes, more abstract than avian once baked, but filled with love. That small tradition sparked my lifelong passion for challah baking.

For years, I used any clean towel to cover rising dough. Then one Friday, I had an idea: why not create a cloth designed specifically for this special mitzvah? Something beautiful and purposeful. And so, the Challah Dough Cover was born—crafted with love, and honored with the New Product of the Year award at Kosherfest. It launched in one elegant design and three color options.

She’s the inventor of the Challah Dough Cover and author of the children’s book Way Too Much Challah Dough (Hachai, now in its 10th printing). A full-time graphic designer, Goldie founded BestDressedBread.com to combine her three passions: challah, writing, and design.
