DISCLAIMER: I was only a teenager and this was my first attempt at baking challah. I had all the ingredients assembled. As I worked through the steps, I reached the part that read: "form challahs." Simple enough. I deftly braided 2 beautiful challahs- about the size of the ones you get in the bakery. Then I read the next instruction..."allow to rise until doubled in size." YIKES! Let's just say that our family had wedding sized challahs that week. They grew so large in the oven that they butted up against the oven walls. Lesson learned.
