Tomatoes Picked this Morning!

File this tip away for next fall:

Next year, if your tomatoes are still green when the mercury drops- Try this:. Right before the first frost in your area, cut your tomato plant close to the soil level and simply hang the whole plant upside-down in a room-temperature space; The warmer the room the faster the green tomatoes will ripen! Sun is not necessary. A basement or utility room are perfect because this can be a messy process. Then check on your crop every few days and enjoy home grown vine-ripened tomatoes — right into December! How does this tip relate to Challah Baking?  A fabulous tomato dip goes perfectly with a slice of home-made challah :)
