Spread a BestDressedBread.com Challah Dough Cover (instead of a regular dishtowel) over your dough bowl while it rises on the kitchen counter. This pretty square cloth, designed to cover rising Challah dough is a great reminder to “take challah” before braiding. Many BestDressedBread designs include the bracha, and some even include a printed text of the full Yehi Ratzon. ( I found that very convenient!) While you braid each challah, cover the unused portion of dough to keep it from drying out, and then use your Challah Dough Cover again to cover the braided challahs while they rise.

EXTRA TIP: Place one of the pieces of parchment paper that you prepared to line your tins or baking sheets between the rising dough and your Challah Dough Cover. This will keep the cloth clean and minimize washings. Visit www.BestDressedBread.com and choose from hundreds ( literally !) of design styles.
